Caldwell County 4-H JUNIOR LEADERS

Want to become a Junior Leader for the 2020 Summer Exploring season?

1) Register for the April 27 online training.

2) Fill out the application, so we can better understand your interests.

Youth must be at least 12 years old and enrolled in 4HOnline, prior to the start of Summer Exploring in June. They must also complete the application, have a positive attitude and act appropriately as a role model for other youth.

There are three programs needing Junior Leaders:

  • “Walk: The Appalachian Trail” is a walking program for 4-H youth of all ages. Junior Leaders will be team captains for those who opt into being on walking teams for the summer. This is an opportunity to promote healthy living to your peers and their families.
  • “Cloverbud Corner” is a program for our youngest 4-H members – 5 to 8 year-olds. Junior Leaders will lead short programs on a variety of topics, connecting with the future of 4-H. This is an opportunity to promote learning and work on facilitation skills.
  • “Ask a Farmer” is a farm-to-fork spinoff. Program participants will have the opportunity to talk with farmers and learn about where their food comes from. Junior Leaders will help recruit and host these farmers. This is an opportunity to practice soft skills and share about agriculture.

Training on April 27 at 6 p.m. via Zoom will prepare youth for their roles.
