As you know, it is time once again to begin preparations for another successful market season at the Franklin County Farmers Market. Each of you should be proud of your efforts in the past and especially in 2021. Last year the market had one of the highest, if not the highest, volume of buyers it has seen in many years. This can be credited to your efforts in producing fresh, top-quality produce and products for the citizens of Franklin County.

Each year we have a meeting at the beginning of the season to discuss the coming year and also to give you a chance to make recommendations and comments about the Farmers Market. This year our annual meeting will be on March 15th at 4:30 p.m. in the Annex at Franklin County Cooperative Extension, located at 103 S. Bickett Blvd, Louisburg. This meeting is a requirement, however, if you cannot attend, you will need to contact Pat Ayscue to schedule an appointment. You will need to register for this meeting or to set up an appointment before March 11th by calling the Cooperative Extension office at 919-496-3344. This year, in 2022, we are asking all vendors and those working the market for you to attend this required meeting. The Covid-19 pandemic has ushered in new challenges and the vendors of 2021 have met them and handled the situation well. This will be an informative meeting and vendor applications will be updated at this time, which will be required if you plan to sell at the market during 2022.

We will be providing an opportunity for your scales to be checked and verified by the NCDA & CS scale inspector. We will schedule the scale inspector to come to the Farmers Market during market hours to verify your scales. All scales should be checked prior to the busy vegetable season. Again, thank you for your continued support of the Franklin County Farmers Market and your dedication to providing fresh produce and products to the citizens of this area.

We are looking forward to seeing you.
