North Central District 4-H Poultry Show

Registration is now open for the 2023 North Central District 4-H Poultry Show! Youth ages 5-18, in the North Central Extension District are invited to participate in the Egg-Laying Chicken Project. Each participating youth will receive four laying hen chicks to raise, keep records on, and present at the Poultry Show, at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds. To help prepare families for this project, we will have a series of webinars and in-person showmanship workshops.Cost: $20 and includes payment for four chicks (either Barred Rock or Buff Orpington) and registration for one youth for the show.

TIMELINE - Calendar of Events

• December 16, 2022, 5 p.m. - Registration and Payment Deadline
• January 5, 12, and 19, 2023, 6:30 p.m.- Live Poultry Husbandry Webinars (will be recorded if you cannot attend in-person.)
• Mid-January, 2023 - Receive chicks from your local County Extension Center TBD-Spring Showmanship Clinics
• April 20, 2023, 5 p.m.- Project Record Book Submission
• May 6, 2023 - District Poultry Show, Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, 421 N. 27th St., Winston-Salem
